This is not a comprehensive list and many other locally-based groups are also active. Local councils are not listed here either but many do have their own conservation department and may be able to give advice or help in other ways with projects.
The Devon Wildlife Trust manages several reserves around Devon. Information leaflets are available for many of them as well as on many other topics which are relevant to communities. They also run events throughout the year for the public.

The National Trust is a large landowner in Devon. Several of their sites have visitor facilities such as Castle Drogo and Lydford Gorge and many others have good public access. There are information leaflets available and many events are organised for the public.

The Northern Devon Coast & Countryside Service works with the community to provide a high quality service for the northern Devon coast & countryside, to secure a sustainable future & safe-guard the special character of the area. The Service has three key areas of work, each with its own dedicated team. These are Access and Interpretation, Landscape and Biodiversity and the team that manages the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The NDCCS are also the lead agency responsible for co-ordinating the UNESCO designated Biosphere Reserve centred on Braunton and the Taw/Torridge Estuary.
