Devon Worklessness Forum
The worklessness indicator in the Local Area Agreement (LAA 24) aims to:
- Reduce the gap in benefit claim rates and unemployment rates between the worst performing neighbourhoods and the average for Devon by supporting more people into sustained work.
- Devon also has a specific national target which reports to and supports the above - to increase the number of adults registered with social services who do paid work.
The Devon Worklessness Forum is chaired by Janet Sinclair, Partnership Manager at Job Centre Plus, who is responsible for LAA 24, with the aim to increase the number of successful outcomes for unemployed people and employers.
To drive the 'worklessness' agenda the Devon Worklessness Forum brings together, on a bi-monthly basis, a wide range of key agencies from the statutory and voluntary sector who work with unemployed people.
