Terms of Reference
Delivery Outcome for LAA 6: Driving business competitiveness and reducing carbon emissions through public sector supply chains
Objectives:
To enable a greener Devon economy by;
- Drive Sustainable Procurement adoption, policy and knowledge transfer across Devon County Council (DCC) and the Devon Strategic Partnership (DSP) of public sector bodies.
- Enable businesses involved in the DCC / DSP supply chain to be more low carbon and resource efficient, thus reducing waste, energy and enabling them to be more productive and competitive.
Purpose of the Steering Group
The Working Party will develop and manage the implementation of the above objectives.
Membership – will consist of the following
Devon County Council
Global Action Plan
Environment Agency
Devon and Cornwall Police
Teignbridge and represented districts
Exeter University
Exeter City Council
Responsibilities
All representatives are to develop and help implement Sustainable Procurement Policies to help improve the environmental performance of Devon Business supply chains and lower the carbon footprint of these businesses.
GAP will support this project by; facilitate meetings, provide sustainability advice, support Devon Businesses and design questionnaires/workshops in consultation with the group.
Meetings
Regular attendance at meetings – frequency to be decided
Reporting
All to provide reporting data as required – i.e. time spent on project
DSP delivery board – milestones to be reported quarterly
BREW Centre – quarterly reports in line with grant funding regulations.
