The owner of a property may apply to Devon County Council for a room or rooms in his/her property to be approved under the Marriage Act 1994 and the Civil Partnership Act 2004. An application form, together with guidance notes (34KB - pdf help) is available by contacting Devon Registration Service - see address below or by completing our online request for more information The fee, covers a three year period.

Venues must be suitable and should not have any current or ongoing religious connection.  Civil marriage and civil partnership are secular rather than religious.  The area for approval must be within a permanent structure -  that excludes most outdoor locations or forms of transport such as trains, planes or hot air balloons!
