From hundreds of your nominations, received throughout the summer, we’ve drawn up a list of finalists.
Literary and musical talent shines to the fore, along with military endeavour and technological innovation.
As well as the final overall ‘people’s choice’ winner, a panel of judges, including Devon historian Todd Gray and Devon County Council history advisor Jamie Byrom, will draw up a list of 12 ‘Great Unknown’ Devonians who they feel should not be left with their achievements unsung.
The overall people’s choice winner and the Great Unknown Devonians list will be announced on 30 November at County Hall, during Devon County Council’s second county-wide culture conference.
