Devon Flag

Devon Flag Group

The Devon Flag Group was set up in 2003 to promote the Devon Flag, set standards and evaluate Devon Flag products and services available.

The group is made up of individuals who helped in the design, selection and initial promotion of the flag.

Kevin Pyne, a founder member of the group says: “The flag emphasises the county’s history, especially it’s Celtic roots which are very strong. The green symbolises the fields of Devon, white for the sea and our china clay industries and the black edges of the cross is for the granite mica of the moors.”

“It’s a flag for everyone with Devon in their hearts, a unifying symbol, not just for people born, raised or living here.”
