Community Planning

East Devon

East Devon Local Strategic Partnership

The LSP meets every quarter to discuss issues of importance to the people of East Devon.  The partnership brings together representatives from all the main public agencies and community organisations that work in East Devon to make strategic decisions about joint action to improve services.

Purpose: To make measurable improvements to the economic, environmental and social conditions in East Devon and to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.

  • Voluntary and Community Sector representatives
  • Representatives from key partnerships

The responsibilities of the LSP include:

  • Anticipating and responding to the developing social, economic and environmental needs within East Devon
  • Developing and implementing annual programmes for action spanning all partner agencies.
  • Implement, review and update the Strategic Community Plan for East Devon and all its associated Action Plans.

The first Community Plan was published in 2002.  The Plan was revised in Spring 2006 and is available on this website

What we are aiming to do is:

  • To pick issues which are important to local people and which can only be tackled by joint action
  • To respond to matters arising from local initiatives which need multi agency responses.
  • To develop and implement an action plan for the next two years.
