MSC Napoli public inquiry
Devon County Council gave a pledge in 2007 to lead an independently chaired local public inquiry into the beaching of the MSC Napoli in Lyme Bay. The inquiry was supported by East Devon District and Dorset County Councils.
The purpose of the inquiry was to hold public hearings and prepare a report on what lessons could be learned from the fate of the vessel and how best to protect our marine environment and coastal communities in the future.
