SEAWARD
The forecast today is for generally mild and settled weather, although the seas remain rough.
High spring tides and winds have not delayed the salvage operation or caused any further damage to the vessel.
They are 15 members of the salvage team on board the vessel.
Removal of the oil is continuing from tanks in the engine room. Oil is being skimmed from water in the Number 6 Hold.
Old sheen oil is visible, originating from the starboard side of the vessel, along with a small amount of black oil and emulsified oil. It is expected that this will disperse before reaching the shoreline.
Three containers were lost overboard last night; one has been recovered at Branscombe; two were recovered and lifted onto a barge.
42 containers were successfully removed from the deck of the vessel yesterday taking the total to 599 containers recovered. Containers are today being stacked on the crane barge, Big Foot, due to restrictions of space. The shuttle barge is expected back from Portland tomorrow morning.
Divers were not able to secure submerged containers yesterday for lifting as hoped, due to the sea conditions. However the divers will attempt again today.
ONSHORE

Contractors have responded to reports of oil at Sandy Bay, Littleham.
Operations within the compound at Branscombe are going well as waste is being segrated for removal.
