Skimming of oil continues in the engine room and Hold number 6.

The process to remove containers from below deck is continuing.  There are now just 355 containers remaining on board.

Operations are continuing at Portland Port.

Smit Salvage, contracted to remove the oil and containers from the vessel, will also carry out removal of the vessel itself.

There has been a report of oil at sea off the beach between Littlecombe and Weston Mouth.  The authorities are aware and investigations are being made.  Pharmaceuticals, including sheathed needles, that washed ashore at Exmouth this week have been collected and removed.
