New summer timetable for Jurassic Coast bus

From Adrian Lane, Exeter 383262, May 01, 2007

A FREE summer bus timetable is now available for the CoastlinX53 service which travels along the Jurassic Coast.

The service operates seven days a week, including Bank Holidays, with buses running every two hours between Exeter, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Bridport, Abbotsbury and Weymouth.

It offers a great opportunity for a bargain day out. A FirstDay Explorer ticket gives a full day's unlimited travel along the route and costs just £5.50 for adults, £3.50 for senior citizens, £4 for children or £12.50 for families (up to four people with no more than two adults). Passengers can also stop off along the route and continue on a later bus.

For commuters, a weekly ticket costs £15 and allows unlimited travel on services X53 and X54 for seven consecutive days.

Devon and Dorset County Councils financially support service CoastLinX53 which is operated by First Hampshire and Dorset.

Councillor Margaret Rogers, Devon County Council Executive Member for Environment, said: "The CoastlinX53 service has become a successful route that's popular with locals and visitors, as the regular buses take in some of the major sights along the Jurassic coast. The timetable is handy for passengers looking to travel along the route on a daily basis or for an occasional day out."

Timetables are available from tourist information centres, bus company offices, libraries and post offices.
