About Me

I have been elected as a County Councillor for the electoral division of Axminster. I intend to serve the interests of all residents, regardless of political persuasion.

I am, however, a member of the Liberal Democrat Party and take an active interest in a number of national and local campaigns. It would not be appropriate for me to use this website to promote these campaigns though you can visit related external websites by selecting some of the links to be found on these pages.

I am married and have been a Councillor for 43 years.  I was first elected to the County Council in 1974. I am also a Member of East Devon District Council and Axminster Town Council.

In addition I am the Founder Member of the National Horse Brass Society.  I am also a madly enthusiastic collector of numerous other bits and pieces such as kitchenalia and jelly moulds.  The worst thing I ever did on television was to invite a young lady reporter, not to come up to see my etchings, but to see my 250 Copland and Minton jelly moulds.  Oh dear - it put the price of jelly moulds right up!

I became a Councillor to fight for employment and housing for young people.

My Priorities/Objectives:

To help people to move more easily from place to place within the County and to be able to earn a decent living.
