County Councillors

There are 62 County Councillors (also known as Members) elected by those eligible to vote in elections which take place every four years.

Each councillor represents the people within an area known as an 'Electoral Division'. Councillors have a number of distinct roles, namely:-

  1. Making policy and other decisions relating to the services for which, collectively, they are responsible
  2. Looking after the interests of local people in their Electoral Division
  3. Representing the Council at local, regional and national level

If you don't feel you are getting fair treatment then you may wish to contact your local County Councillor and ask him or her to take up the matter for you.
