Training Programme

UNDERSTANDING TRAUMA AND BUILDING RESILIENCE

Trainer:  Emerald-Jane Turner, Stress and Trauma Management Consultant (London)

Aims and Objectives:  By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Understand the theory on developmental trauma and how it affects physiology and behaviour
  • Understand the theory of mirror neurons  and why we feel for others – transference and the trauma triangle
  • Explore practical ways of helping children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • Understand  the importance of boundaries in resilience and managing stress
  • Identify our resources and planning to stay well

Date: 9/10th July 2008

Times: 10 am – 3 pm each day

Venue: Westbank Healthy Living Centre, Farm House Rise, Exminster EX6 8AT

Maximum number for this course: 18.  This is shared training with the Adoption Service.

Carers will need to commit to both days if they wish to attend this course. If you're offered a place, it's essential that you attend.
