Sessions covering a wide range of subjects are available on the Train To Work With Children in Devon website.
E learning has the advantage that you can study where and when you want, at a time and pace that suits you.
Each session is linked to the appropriate National Occupational Standards (NOS). Sessions are not assessed but there are activities, case studies and a multiple choice questionnaire which will help you to reflect on your learning.
In order to access the e-learning sessions, you will need basic IT skills in using the internet, sending and receiving emails, and downloading files.
If you don’t have access to a computer at home, your local library can offer you 30 minutes free internet access per day.
How to register
Before you can access the e-learning sessions on the website, you will need to apply for a password. Please complete and return the e-learning password request form
(39KB - pdf help) – or you can apply by emailing julie.fletcher@devon.gov.uk You will then be sent a password together with full instructions on how to register online and login to the e-learning sessions.
A record of your learning
Certificates for e-learning sessions you have completed are available on request. These form a record of your learning, and can be incorporated into your Professional Portfolio as evidence of your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Before we can issue your certificate you will be required to complete a multiple choice questionnaire to test your understanding of the session, and a short evaluation form for each session undertaken. The questionnaire, evaluation form and certificate request form are included at the end of each e-learning session.
