A practical guide to improving victim safety in a multi-agency context

Course Aims & Objectives

Aims

To minimise the risk presented to those experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
To demonstrate the essential nature of the need to assess risk on an inter-agency basis.
To develop a countywide response in assessing risk by having a consistent approach for identifying risk factors and maximising safety for victims/survivors.

Objectives

To understand the need for victim focused Risk Assessment.
To be able to carry out an effective Risk Assessment within all agency roles.
To know what to do with Risk Assessment in particular with reference to the MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Council) process.
To demonstrate the link between Risk Assessment and Child Protection.

One Day (9.00am – 4.30pm)

This course is practical and user-friendly. Participants will experience and enjoyable and productive workshop involving group discussion and participative exercises.
