Free training sessions on essential Ofsted information for childcare providers

The Spring Ofsted Update Training sessions will be held in various locations across Devon in Spring 2009. Each session will last approximately two and a half hours.

_{*Please note that the Barnstaple sessions will last for 4 hours as the Ofsted Update training will be followed by the Network Provider meeting. This is a format which is being piloted to cut down the number of meetings providers attend.}

To avoid disappointment, it is essential that all providers book on to this training. Two places are allocated per setting.  We will notify you of the venue by letter or when you book onto the training.

Please do not just arrive on the day of training without having booked. The venues we hire have a maximum capacity and we must not exceed this.  

The venues we book will have ample parking close by for all attendees.

Provisional topics for discussion at the session:

• Childcare on non domestic premises- Observation, Assessment and Planning training to be delivered by the Early Years adviser’s team.
• Questions and answers on the Self Evaluation Form and Risk Assessment
• Childcare on domestic premises –Observation, Assessment and Planning training to be delivered by Trio and Barnardos.
• Feedback and comment on the new Ofsted Inspection Reports format, with an emphasis on what inspectors look for.

The information and discussion topics are different for each round of Ofsted Update Training Sessions. If possible you should try to attend one session each term to get the maximum benefit.
