LOCAL NETWORK FUND

Devon - Community Foundation - Supporting Devon's Communities

The Local Network Fund is a Government grant making initiative and aims to support voluntary and community groups in Devon working to alleviate child poverty, in its widest sense. Grants of £250 to £7,000 are available to fund activities for children and young people aged 0-19. Devon Community Foundation manage the fund and have employed Playlines Development Workers to provide outreach and support.

If you have a great idea, but need funding, you can apply for grants of £250 to £7,000 for projects with children, young people, parents or carers.

Projects should fall into one of the Local Network Fund's Four Themes:

  1. Aspirations and Experience - giving disadvantaged children experiences, or helping them achieve goals, that other children may take for granted .
  2. Isolation and Access - providing valuable support and opportunities to children and young people who have difficulty accessing services available to others or who feel isolated or alone .
  3. Economic Disadvantage - assisting families to improve their living standards and coping with difficulties that come from being on a low income.
  4. Children's Voices - giving opportunity to children to express their opinions and advice on matters that concern them.

Match funding is not necessary. Grants should be used within one year of the award. They particularly wish to support small-scale projects for which the Local Network Fund would be the only funder.
