Your local CAB office is always a good place to check out rights and responsibilities. Some legal firms offer short, free sessions where you could ask questions about your legal rights, especially if you think they have been infringed.

PALS (Patient Advice & Liaison Service) is available to assist patients, carers and members of the public find information about health services, or try to resolve any difficulties they may be experiencing with the local NHS.

British Council of Disabled People works to promote and protect disabled people’s human and civil rights
Children's Legal Centre runs an advice service on all aspects of law and policy affecting children and young people
Devon Children's Rights for young people looked after by Devon Social Services
Disability Alliance campaigns for improvements to the social security system
disability.gov.uk helps find out about your rights as a disabled person
Disability Rights Commission an independent body set up by the Government to help secure civil rights for disabled people
National Youth Advocacy Service a ‘not for profit’ charity which offers socio-legal advocacy services to children, young people, parents/carers and professionals
People First self-advocacy group of people with learning difficulties
VIA Values into Action a campaigning organisation which works to promote the right of people with learning difficulties to become full citizens
