Adult Learners' Week 2008

Adult Learners' Week logoAdult Learners' Week is the UK’s largest and longest running learning campaign. Held each May, it encourages thousands of adults whatever their age or background to give learning a go – either to catch up with new skills, or to learn for fun.

Adult Learners’ Week is all about celebrating and raising awareness of the fact that we all learn everyday, often without realising it. And that taking the next step and going on a course needn’t be like going back to school.

Whether you want to gain new skills or qualifications to get a promotion at work, or want to learn more about a subject you’re interested in, adult learning could be the ideal solution.

Devon Library and Information Services are running a series of events throughout the county in support of Adult Learners' Week. This year we are also running some hands-on activities that follow the National Year of Reading’s theme of “Mind and Body”.
