I just have to tell you about this writing competition... The Henrietta Branford Writing Competition is open to any young writers under the age of 19. So that's me and you - yay!
Six winners will be invited to a celebration party in
London at which the Branford Boase Award is given. There they'll get to meet authors, editors, publishers, agents, and other professionals in the field. This year the party is on
Wednesday 9th July and I hear
Jacqueline Wilson will be there too!
Linda Buckley-Archer who was one of the Branford Boase Award winners in 2007 has written a
starter paragraph. All you have to do is finish the story in not more than 1,500 words, using the Linda's paragraph to start you off. Your ending can be long (well up to 1,500 words) or short as you like, then all you have to do is send it along to Kate Jones, the Director of Young Writer magazine, who is the Judge this year (here's her address):
