As you know I've interviewed loads of great authors, so thought it was about time I interviewed another illustrator. And guess who I got?
Woody Fox! If you don't know who Woody Fox is, he's the guy who does the brilliant illustrations for
Steve Cole's Astrosaurs books. Woody's been drawing for the last 18 years, mainly working on children's books, but he's also designed greetings cards and kid's clothes.
Woody was born in London but brought up in Buckinghamshire where it's all green much like Devon! He spent a lot of his time in the woods studying the wildlife and has always been crazy for animals. I guess that's why we got on so well!
He draws in different styles, mainly using watercolours, inks and gouache (it's a type of paint like watercolour but it's a bit thicker), and he's now got into acrylics. He also writes his own books.
Woody now lives in a little thatched cottage in the middle of Devon with his 2 cats! So he didn't have to travel far to meet some of you at
Tiverton library, when he was there last month.
Here's what he said when I interviewed him.
