You must be a Devon Library Member to win, so please include your name, age and membership number (from your library ticket) with anything you send to me.

My competitions are for people age 16 and under - not for grown-ups!

Any work must be original – your own ideas and efforts and not borrowed from someone else. They should not have been published anywhere else.

Devon Library and Information Service will have the right to reproduce any work as part of Library Service promotion.

Items can be taken into your local library, clearly marked “For M@x at The Zone”, emailed as an attachment to max@devon.gov.uk, or post to:

I can only accept files in the following formats, Word (.doc), Plain Text (.txt), Rich Text Format (.rft), or pictures/graphics (jpg), (bmp), (gif), (png) - other (.html), (htm), (.swf)

If you want your original work returned to you, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

None of your personal details will appear on the website, except for your first name, age and the name of your local library, e.g. “Stephen, age 12 from Barnstaple” or “Tracey, age 5 from Ottery St Mary”. We want to make sure that everyone who uses this website will be safe.

If your work is going to appear in M@x Scraps, I'll send you a letter inviting you to contact your local library and arrange a time to collect your prize

M@x’s decisions will be final and he can’t discuss his reasons for choosing or not choosing items.

If at first you don’t succeed – keep trying! We really look forward to getting your book reviews, stories, poems, pictures and photographs.

If you send photographs of yourself or friends you will need to get your parents/carers (and friends parents/carers) to sign a special permission form so that we can use them on the site. The forms are available from your library.
