I had 90 entries for my Design a Dream Flying Machine competition, so as you can imagine I had a bit of a job choosing the winners. You'll remember I was going to choose two winners, one from each age group - age 5-9, and 9 and over. The thing was with sooo many entries, I just couldn't decide. So I have chosen 2 winners and 4 runners-up. The winners will each receive signed copies of Hazel Marshall's Troublesome Angels and Flying Machines, and Troublesome Angels and the Red Island Pirates books, plus goody bags. All my runners-up will receive luverly goody bags.
Here are the winning entries.
The Camocopter was designed by Rosanna, who is 10 and goes to Seaton Library. The thing I liked best about it, apart from the camouflage paint of course, was it had a CD, DVD, Video player and TV onboard, oh and a button to make the pilot chair in to a bed! Brilliant work Rosanna - hope you enjoy your goody bag and books.
Thomas, age 7 sent me this picture of his design for the Tp-710. The flap cleverly opens to reveal the inside of the aircraft. Thomas uses Seaton library, obviously lots of budding aviators their in East Devon! Keep up the good work and I hope you're able to pick-up even more tips on designing flying machines from your books!
Runners up
