Acceptable Evidence of Name and Address

On registering, new library members are asked to provide proof of their name and current address. Examples of acceptable evidence are a current or recent:

Driving licence
Television licence
Medical card
Hire purchase agreement
Electricity, gas, telephone (land line) or water bill

Letter from employer or payslip, where your address is included
Council tax bill
State allowance book (eg Pension, Family allowance, or Income Support)
Bank or credit card statement
Correspondence from the Inland Revenue, Benefits Agency, solicitor, mortgage lender or other professional body

If you are unable to produce any of these items, or if you do not have a fixed address, please speak to library staff, who will help you find a way of becoming a member. For example, if you do not have an address, we can accept evidence of your National Insurance number, or if you are a young adult (16 - 18), we may be able to accept something like a college enrolment form.
