Tiverton Library Book Group started in January 2003 and meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:30-11:30am (but miss the August meeting each year) for a cup of coffee, a biscuit and a chat about books.
We are a lively and informal group who generally all read and discuss the same title, but have tried reading collections with a common theme, different titles by one author, reading prize shortlists, or just making recommendations to each other when we have found something that we have enjoyed. Along the way we have had visits from authors who have talked about their work and occasionally met up with another book group to share experiences.
We generally average around about 10-12 although have been as many as 18 once. As we have been going for quite a few years now, the group has changed along the way, but still boasting some original members but are always happy to encourage anyone who enjoys reading and would like to share their reading experience to join our group. Anyone who would like to know more about the group should contact the library on 01884 244644.
