The Monday Book Group

Braunton Library Group was formed in June 1997 when one of our readers wanted to help the library in some small way.  She started donating tea and coffee so that anybody who came to the group could also have a drink and make a small donation for the purchase of books.  To date they have bought books to the value of £2,400 which benefits the whole community.

They meet weekly on Mondays between 11am and 12 noon, (except during school holidays) and discuss one book per month.  They have read a wide range of titles over the years, from the classics to Barbara Erskine, poetry and even a children's story, but they have to admit that most of the group prefer the popular authors.

This group is full at the moment, please ask a member of staff if you wish your name to be added to the waiting list.

The Friday Book Group

If you love reading and wish to share your enjoyment with others this is the group for you.  One book is chosen by the group to discuss every month so you could discover new authors along the way and talk about old favourites as well.

The Friday Book Group was launched in April 2007, as there was such a long waiting list for the Monday group.  It has already proved to be very popular, so if you want to join please ask any member of staff if there is a waiting list, as space is limited in our small building.
