Title: Su Bristow - Author Talk

Description: Su's debut novel, Sealskin, is set in the Hebrides, and is a reworking of the Scottish and Nordic legend of the selkies, or seals, who can turn into people. It won the Exeter Novel Prize 2013 and her writing has been described as 'magical' realism. Su will have copies of 'Seal Skin' available to purchase.

Title: Smoothie Bike
Date:Saturday 24 June
Time: 10:00-12:00
Description: A smoothie bike will be at Okehampton Library as part of the Okehampton Food Festival. Use your pedalling energy to create a healthy, nutritious drink. All the fruit will be kindly donated by Waitrose supermarket.

Title: Bounce & Rhyme
Date:Every Tuesday in partnership with Okehampton Children's Centre
Time: 10:00-10:30 & 11:00-11:30
Description: The first session is for over 1 year olds. The second session is for under 1 year olds. If you have children within both age ranges then feel free to come along to either session. Come and enjoy nursery rhymes and action songs together and perhaps learn some new ones!

Description: Storytime followed by a playtime session with Duplo bricks. This fun, hands-on session is designed to develop children's fine motor skills, provide recognition of shapes/colours, spark their creativity and increase children's early literacy skills. Come along to help build your child's imagination. Enjoy a chat over a cup of coffee - available at 50p a cup.

Description: It's not a race, it's not a test. Simply choose the books you like and when you have read them, chat to your local librarian about them, up to 4 books at a time. You are awarded a badge when you have read 10, 25, 50 and 75 books plus stickers at 40, 50 and 90 books. When you have finished your reading trail of 100 books you will get a special certificate, a gold badge and a £5 book token!
