We have no dedicated car park but there is public car parking immediately adjacent to the building, or within easy walking distance.

The Park and Ride Scheme, which formerly operated from the south east side of the town, has been discontinued.

Car parking in Barnstaple town centre

There is an hourly train service from Exeter and the main rail station is approximately half a mile or approximately 15 or so minutes walk from the Library and Record Office.

There are regular buses into the town and a National Express service, the main bus station being near the town centre, about 10 minutes walk from the Library and Record Office

You are welcome to call in and use our resources or to ring and discuss your requirements at any time.

Many of our resources are in microfilm or fiche format and we strongly recommend that you ring in advance of your visit to book an appropriate reader to enable you to view these.

We also recommend that you ring to check the availability of any book item you may be planning a special journey to view.
