Description: Absence and Presence is a collection of original prints made by artists from around the world in response to the bombing of Al Mutanabbi Street, the heart of Baghdad’s literary quarter on the 5th March 2007. 260 artists from many parts of the world have been invited to make a new original print responding to the bombing on the theme of ‘absence and presence’. Title: Trouser-Wearing Characters

Time: Doors Open at 18:30. Event Starts at 19:00
Description: Rose Collis brings her acclaimed one-woman musical cabaret show to Exeter Library, as part of an Arts Council-funded tour for LGBT History Month 2016. 'Trouser-Wearing Characters' is the first ever musical cabaret show written and performed by a British female author. This original entertainment, written and performed by one of Sussex’s favourite personalities, is a unique mixture of music, history and comedy. The performance will take place in the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library and will be followed by an informal Q&A session with Rose Collis and opportunities to buy books by her.

Description: Come along to Exeter Library’s first Language Café get together and meet with others wanting to use their French, German and Spanish conversation skills. We are inviting anyone else interested in other languages to come along and see what goes on…there may be someone else keen to converse in your preferred language choice. A few things to remember about a Language Café meet up: They are not lessons so some, even if basic, knowledge of the languages is required to participate. There is no formal structure so come prepared to grab a drink and have a go at chatting about things of common interest. You don’t have to come to the whole session so feel free to come and go as you wish.
