Title: Making Artists’ Books
Date:Mondays 9, 16, 23 May and 6, 13 June.
Time: 10:00-15:00
Description: A 5 week course with Double Elephant Print workshop. For adults recovering from mental health illness. We will make artist books and use simple printmaking such as rubber-stamping, linocut and monoprinting. Starting each day at Exeter Library for the morning and move after lunch to Double Elephant Print Workshop (2 mins walk).
Audience:For adults recovering from mental health illness.
Cost:Suggested donation £3 per session for material costs

Title: Make Your Own Bookmark Workshop

Description: As part of Art Week Exeter, come along to this bookmark making workshop in the children's library. Launching this year, AWE taking place between 9-15 May, will be the first umbrella arts event in the city sharing work from international and home grown artists, grassroots initiatives, cutting edge collectives, and brand new ventures. Experience art across the city, from the streets to the gallery, in private studios and unusual spaces - all within easy walking distance.

Description: As part of Reuse Week from May 16th 22nd, Exeter Scrapstore will be running creative activities using a variety of materials from their very own ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of scrap taking place in the Children's Library. Also offering a 20% to all family members joining up during Reuse week.

Title: Exeter Scrapstore Fab Lab Workshop

Description: The Fab Lab will be running creative making activities using Exeter Scrapstore’s scrap materials. Try out the laser cutter and digital embroiderer and learn how to transform basic materials in to something personalised. This is an informal, FREE, drop-in craft session. Please note that children are not to be left unattended by parents.

Description: Come along to Exeter Library’s Language Café. An informal get together to meet with others wanting to use their French, German, Spanish and Italian conversation skills. We are inviting anyone else interested in other languages to come along and see what goes on…there may be someone else keen to converse in your preferred language choice. The meet ups are informal gatherings with no lessons involved, so some, even if basic, knowledge of the languages is required to participate. Just come prepared to grab a drink and have a go at chatting about things of common interest and feel free to come and go as you wish.

Description: During the session staff and volunteers will be on hand for one to one support located in the Teen area of the library. Find help with basic IT skills, using the internet, creating email accounts, sending and receiving emails, using social media and much more.

Description: Designed especially for those with memory loss conditions, this small supportive friendly group promotes the benefits of reading aloud to stimulate memories and imagination. Come along and listen to best-loved short stories and poems and share a cuppa during shared reflection, debate and recollection. Participants report an improvement in confidence, trust and motivation.
