John Gendall

GENDALL, John. artist, printseller. Exeter: High Street 1825d-1828; Cathedral Yard 1856. Born: 1789, Exe Island. Died: March 1865. Trading as Cole and Gendall 1825-1828. Artist who produced a series of etchings of Exeter published by himself in 1834 and a series of six lithographs of Bicton church published 1850. He also produced many of the preliminary watercolours for the views of country houses appearing in Ackermann's Repository of Arts. Exhibited Royal Academy 1846-63. Premises in Mol's Coffee House.
