The midnight patrol
Glides through the night
On top of the car
Blinks a blue light.

Muggers and burglars
Slink out of sight
Or stand very tall
And try to look right.

The midnight patrol
Looks left, looks right
Takes care that nothing
Slips from its sight.

Pick up a flash lamp
Shines down a light
Makes sure that all
Stays peaceful tonight.

The midnight patrol
Last through the night,
Don’t stop searching
Until it sees light.

Slides into traffic

Charlotte, age 13 who goes to Holsworthy Library, reviewed Spy Dog 2 by Andrew Cope.

The book is the second in a trilogy of three amazing books. I chose this book because it was really funny and the plot was great. It is about a dog named Lara and was trained to be a spy dog. In this particular story the family which she lives with go on holiday to the sea to get away from trouble as Lara has a few criminal enemies. she finds that a lot of dogs have gone missing and when she and the children of the family go to an island off the coast they find lots of cages full of trapped dog she tries to stop it by using two special gadgets on her collar to get the two men dog-knapers to stop taking the next set of smuggled dogs to a city. She tells the police where the men were doing the swap over of lorries and the police caught the dog-knapers. I recommended this book to 8 - 12 year olds as it is funny and some parts a bit tricky to understand.

This review of the Roald Dahl's The Witches, was sent to me by Tegan, age 11 who goes to Tavistock Library.

My review is about The Witches by Roald Dahl. I think it is a very good book. There is a boy who's parents die and he goes and lives with his grandmother. They go on holiday and see the grand high witch. The boy goes around everywhere looking for her and he gets locked in the room with her and her fellow witches. While he is there he hears a plan to kill all children by making them eat candy with a potion in it, and it makes them into a mouse. While they are there on holiday the boy tries to stop the grand high witch from making all children mice, but then he gets made a mouse. In the end the grand high witch dies and then the boy gets put back to human again. I really think you should read this book because it is so, so, so good!
