These folded paper frogs are great fun. Make some for your friends and see who can flip their frog the highest!

Flippy frogs

You will need thin green or yellow card measuring approximately 8cm x 15cm.

Flippy frog

The dotted lines show the first two folds. First, fold the top left hand corner down to form a triangle.

Flippy frog

This is how is should look.

Flippy frog

Unfold this and then fold the right hand
corner down like this.

Flippy frog

Unfold this again. We are now going the fold across the dotted line shown here. But first turn the paper over...

Flippy frog

Like this! See how I've folded across the points of the triangles.

Flippy frog

OK now the difficult bit. Turn the paper back over again and it should look like this. Now you need to squash the triangles down on top of each other. Look at the next picture to see how this works.

Flippy frog

The sides push in so it looks like the hood of a jacket.

Flippy frog

Now it looks like the roof of a little house. I've marked the next fold we are going to make.

Flippy frog

Fold up the little flap. This will make one
of the front feet. The next fold is marked (for the other foot).

Flippy frog

We now need to fold in the sides as marked with dotted lines.

Flippy frog

So it looks like this. Now fold the bottom of the model up. This will make the springy back legs.

Flippy frog

It should almost cover up the nose
and front legs so only the tips are showing.
I've marked the next fold.

Flippy frog

By folding the card back down you have formed the back legs. Now turn the model over.

Press on the lower back of the frog to flip it.
