What are shared reading groups?

  • Shared reading groups are led by trained facilitators who read aloud, enabling everyone to enjoy the pleasure and benefits of personal connections with literature
  • Groups inspire people to relax and listen to a range of great stories and poems, sharing responses as they wish
  • Groups are small and friendly
  • Carers are very welcome
  • There is no pressure to read or talk
  • Groups and refreshments are free

Feel Better With A Book Groups

Enjoy the power of great stories and poems read aloud in a small friendly group. Relax and listen while a facilitator reads aloud from old and new stories and poems. Share responses over a cup of tea. These groups are for people wanting to lift their mood, and enjoy something new and supportive with others.
