Active Life, Active Mind
Active Life Active Mind is a celebration of all the things libraries do to support health and wellbeing across Devon. Some events and activities take place throughout the year, and others have been organised for November only.
Printed Active Life brochures can be found in libraries and community venues across Devon or you can download a copy by following the link below.
This year Active Life Active Mind is very much a partnership between Libraries Unlimited and The Centre for Medical History at the University of Exeter.
On Friday 11th November the University and Libraries Unlimited are holding an exciting symposium workshop about the roles of lifestyle balance in promoting health and wellbeing at Exeter Library. The event is free but places are limited - contact Kerry Dungay - K.Dungay@exeter.ac.uk - for more details and to book a place.
Five ways to wellbeing
Our Active Life Active Mind programme is based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing, a way of looking at well-being developed by the New Economics Foundation based on the latest scientific evidence.
The five ways approach treats your mental health and wellbeing as importantly as our physical health – feeling good is an important part of being healthy.
Research suggests that using the five ways to wellbeing can increase your life expectancy by several years.
With 1 in 4 people today experiencing mental distress during their lifetime, why not take your health into your own hands?
