The Valiant Soldier
The Valiant Soldier in Buckfastleigh is a museum of a pub, which has remained preserved since last orders were called in 1965. Time has stood still there ever since and the bar remains complete with optics and a price list giving a sobering reminder of how drinks prices have changed since that time.
The attic of the pub is crammed with curiosities such as old bottles and jars, photographs and war memorabilia and even the original external lantern. The landlady's sitting room and four bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen are also frozen in time with period fittings, furnishings and clothes.
