Fine Art Designs in Copper
Tor Royal Workshop
Greens produce some of the most distinctive and ornately detailed weathervanes available in the world today. These fully three dimensional copper “sculptures on the wind” have featured in newspapers and magazines both regionally and nationally, with work now in 13 foreign countries. Reviving the lost art of the full bodied copper weathervane, Karen and Gordon Green, create commission based designs from sheet copper using a technique called repousse. Some of Greens most popular designs include the peacock, Alice’s White Rabbit (pictured left on the Bedford Hotel, Tavistock), the mermaid, Toad of Toad Hall, the croquet players, the barn owl, the Japanese fighting fish, and the Montagu’s harrier hawk. Prospective clients are welcome to visit Greens’ Dartmoor studio gallery, to discuss possible commissions, view completed designs on display, and purchase from their range of gifts and ornaments ( including the ever popular dove of peace sculpture).
