Teaching and Learning

Teachers and other education staff report higher stress levels compared to other occupational groups. In a recent UK survey of 17,000 people, 42% of teachers reported that they were highly stressed. This compares to 20% of workers (in all occupations) reporting high or very high levels of stress at work.

Implementing small changes can often make a big difference when managing health and wellbeing. Staff health and wellbeing initiatives will benefit the whole school community, especially when they are embedded into everyday working.

There are a variety of resources available for staff to draw on; some of which are detailed below. For a more in-depth discussion on health and wellbeing for school staff, please contact the Health, Safety and Wellbeing@Work Team.
