We develop an understanding of Devon's communities through:
- Consultation
- Feedback
- Community profiles
- Health and Wellbeing Profiles
- Hate Crime and Incident Reports
- Research and feedback obtained from partners in the voluntary and community sector including the Equality Reference Group.
- Equality Evidence Base

Supporting our communities with funding from the dedicated Equality Budget
We recognise the need to work in close partnership with local communities and organisations and therefore have an equality budget which can be used to support initiatives that challenge inequality and celebrate diversity. Organisations (and sometimes individuals), usually from the Voluntary and Community Sector, may apply for small amounts of funding from the Corporate Equality Budget and funding may be granted to projects, services, facilities or events/activities that meet our equality budget funding criteria and any of our organisational aims. You are strongly advised to bid for funding for a financial year (April to March) by the end of the first week in April.
