Processing Personal Data
The definition of processing is very wide and it is difficult to think of anything an organisation might do with data that will not be processing. In general terms processing can cover;
- obtaining
- recording
- sharing
- storing
- reading
- amending
- destroying
Any organisation that processes personal information for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 must comply with each of the 8 Data Protection principles.
