Investing in our future
We are taking immediate action to support the local economy and boost economic activity. An extra £5 million has been allocated over the next three years for major schemes in Devon.
This includes:
- £1.4 million for Skypark, located just east of Exeter, which is expected to generate around 7,500 jobs
- £1.7 million to identify priority sites for future economic growth.
- £450,000 to Renewable Energy for Devon which is a County Council led project offering capital grants to communities and small businesses to install renewable energy technologies
- £700,000 to develop the county’s ICT infrastructure
- £750,000 to develop the community infrastructure in coastal towns
In addition, £48million is being invested in a wide range of local community projects and schemes across Devon funded by the sale of Exeter airport. Further funds are also being invested thanks to special local community budgets administered by local elected members.
