Libraries in Devon hold a wealth of information to help you research local and family history. The county collection of local history material can be found at the Westcountry Studies Library in Exeter. Other large collections are held at Barnstaple and Exmouth Libraries.

Westcountry Studies Library Opening Hours

It is advisable to contact the Westcountry Studies Library in advance of your visit, to ensure that the resources you wish to use are avaliable for consultation. Some material is stored remotely from the main library and staff may require up to forty eight hours notice to produce items from these collections.
