Learning outcomes: By the end of the session participants will:

• be aware of vulnerability and protective factors in creating a health environment
• understand the foster carer’s role in promoting health care
• understand the process for health assessments
• know who does what and where to go for information and advice about health issues.
• gain greater understanding of health issues which might affect children or young people for example immunisation update including Hepatitis B for carers, asthma, bed wetting, smoking, stress, healthy eating, preventing obesity and sexual health.
