'The MARAC Process in Devon - Increasing Safety for Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse' half day training replaces our one day 'Preventing Murder and Serious Harm in Domestic Violence and Abuse' The course is a practical guide to improving victim safety in a multi-agency context. Participants will experience an enjoyable and productive workshop involving group discussion and participative exercises.
Cost of The MARAC Process in Devon - increasing safety for victims of domestic violence and abuse course
Most statutory and voluntary agencies within Devon will receive this training at a reduced price - i.e £10 inclusive
The exceptions to this are:
1) Delegates who work for all statutory and voluntary agencies from Torbay, Plymouth or outside Devon, who will be charged the full cost at £100 per delegate;
2) Delegates who work in the private sector (within or outside Devon), who will be charged £100 per delegate.
3) Delegates who work for most voluntary agencies within Devon (excluding Torbay or Plymouth), who will receive the training at no charge (but only three free spaces are offered per course).
NB There is a cancellation charge of £110 if 3 weeks' notice is not provided.
Delegates need to have attended the Tackling Domestic Violence & Abuse 1 day Foundation Course before undertaking The MARAC Process in Devon - Increasing Safety for Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse.
The course will focus on the following key topics:
- The MARAC processUsing a Risk Indicator check list
- Information sharing process
- MARAC meeting and action plans
This course is aimed at all front line practitioners working with adults and families
Course Aims & Objectives
Aims
- To minimise the risk presented to those experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
- To demonstrate the essential nature of the need to assess risk on an inter-agency basis.
- To develop a countywide response in assessing risk by having a consistent approach for identifying risk factors and maximising safety for victims/survivors.
Objectives
- To understand the process of MARAC in devon.
- To be able to complete a Risk Indicator Checklist (RIC) within all agency roles.
- To know what to do with a completed RIC in particular with reference to the MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Council) process.
Duration
Half Day (9.15am – 12.15pm and 13.30pm - 16.30pm) with 15 minute comfort break
Style
This course is practical and user-friendly. Participants will experience an enjoyable and productive workshop involving group discussion and participative exercises.
