Managers Tackling Domestic Violence & Abuse - the Links to Duty of Care
The programme will examine the nature, scale and consequences of domestic violence and abuse and how to take appropriate action within the workplace. This course is practical and user-friendly. Participants will experience an enjoyable and productive workshop involving group discussion and participative exercises.
Cost of the Managers Tackling Domestic Violence and Abuse course
Most statutory and voluntary agencies within Devon will receive this training at a reduced price - i.e £25 inclusive.
The exceptions to this are:
1) Delegates who work for all statutory and voluntary agencies from Torbay, Plymouth or outside Devon, who will be charged the full cost at £70 per delegate;
2) Delegates who work in the private sector (within or outside Devon), who will be charged £70 per delegate.
3) Delegates who work for most voluntary agencies within Devon (excluding Torbay or Plymouth), who will receive the training at no charge (but only three free spaces are offered per course).
4) Managers who work for DCC will receive the training at no charge.
NB There is a cancellation charge of £150 if 3 weeks' notice is not provided.
Aims
- To raise awareness of the impact of domestic abuse upon individuals and the workplace
- To appreciate how the impact of domestic abuse may manifest itself in the workplace
- To increase understanding of how best to respond to victims and perpetrators
- To raise standards of practice both individually and collectively
Objectives
By the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the extent of domestic violence within our society and a public sector organisation
- Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of domestic violence on employees
- Appreciate the responsibilities of managers and able to carry out best practice
