Location:

Greenfields is within a few minutes walk of Barnstaple's town centre.

The Catchment Area:

Services are provided for families who live within the defined boundaries of Torridge District Council and North Devon District Council.

Functions:

Greenfields is registered for nine places offering respite and shared care for young people (10-25 years old and named exceptions above and below these ages) with severe physical and learning disabilities.

Respite is very flexible, according to the needs of the young people and their families. Day care is also available for users of the service, which will continue to develop on the first floor.

Greenfields has regular input from therapists who work for the Health Department.

Close links are maintained with Welland House to enable a smooth transition for clients when they reach 10 years old.

All the young people at Greenfields have a Link Worker within the unit and a Care Manager who both ensure a quality service is given.

Information:

In order that users may be given the best possible care it is important that we are informed of any special problems that he or she may have such as allergies. We also like to know of likes and dislikes such as favourite music games or videos to enable us to make stays as happy as possible.

Booking a place:

Respite care can be provided for anything from a short period, such as half an hour up to two weeks - or longer at the discretion of the manager in special circumstances.

Referrals can be made direct to Greenfields following agreement with the Care Manager.
