We view our role as one in which we are involved in:
- Acknowledging and reducing anxiety.
- Facilitating dialogue between schools and parents.
- Establishing realistic and appropriate expectations about SEN provision in schools.
- Discussing Dyslexia as a mainstream issue and placing it within the framework of the SEN Code of Practice.
- Encouraging a focus on the whole child – bringing out strengths as well as helping with areas of difficulty.
- Promoting a shared understanding of the term Dyslexia based on the BPS definition.
- Promoting a focus on supporting needs rather than being preoccupied with labels.
