We can offer certificates of calibration, with traceability to National Standards, for the following:

Mass (traders' weights)

Our Weights and Measures Inspectors can test and pass as fit for use for trade weights in the range 20kg - 1mg.

Length

We can examine and report upon metric rulers of up to 2 metres in length, and tape measures of up to 20 metres in length, for manufacturing and production processes.  We quote an estimated uncertainty range on our measurements of +/- 0.2mm over 1 metre, to 1.3mm over 20 metres.

Items are compared to our Local Standard length measures, which have been examined and certified by the National Weights and Measures Laboratory.

Capacity

We can gravimetrically test and report upon glass and metal capacity measures from 1ml to 20 litres, in accordance with National Weights and Measures Laboratory requirements.

We frequently test metal capacity measures used for testing petrol pumps, graduated glass pipettes, and glass capacity measures used for testing alcoholic spirit measuring instruments.

The weighing machines used in the testing process are regularly tested using weights traceable to National Standards.

We are part of a European approved body able to verify trade weighing machines.

Our Weights and Measures Inspectors are able to test weighing machines used in trade and in production processes.  They use test weights that are traceable to National Standards.
