DECLARATION OF PROTECTION ZONES AND A SURVEILLANCE ZONE
1. This declaration is made under article 11 of the Bluetongue (No 2) Order 2007 (“the Order”).
2. Terms defined in the Order have the same meaning in this declaration.
3. The Chief Veterinary Officer has confirmed bluetongue on premises in England. The Secretary of State declares that from 14:05 on 13 February 2008:
(i) The area described below in Annex I and Annex II of the Schedule is a restricted zone under the Order (“the Restricted Zone”), being part of a restricted zone extending beyond England under Commission Regulation (EC) No 1266/2007(1), in which the measures in article 11 of the Order apply.
(ii) The Restricted Zone is divided into:
- a protection zone comprising the area described in Part A of Annex 1 of the Schedule (“Protection Zone 1”) and a protection zone comprising the area described in Part B of Annex 1 of the Schedule (“Protection Zone 2”); and
- a surveillance zone comprising the area described in Part A of Annex 2 and the areas described in Part B of Annex 2 of the Schedule.
4. The Declaration of a Protection Zone and a Surveillance Zone declared at 16.00 on 8th February 2008 is revoked and replaced by this declaration.

Protection Zone 1 comprises those parts of England contained within the following boundaries:
