Funding

Grants for your Home

Most grant funding is only available to formal organisations such as sports clubs, village hall committees, registered charities etc.  There are however a few grant schemes which, in certain circumstances, can fund work on residential property.

The information below explains the types of funding available to homeowners - it is unlikely that an individual will be eligible to apply for funding for any other work on their home:

Adapting a property for someone with disabilities

District Councils in England offer grant funding to enable disabled people to have their home adapted so that they can continue living there.  For more information, contact your District Council

Making your home more energy efficient

There are several schemes to assist with the costs of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy installations:

Devon Energy Efficiency Advice Centre - find out about saving energy, money and the environment in your home.  Helpline 0800 512012

District Councils - some Devon Districts have their own insulation grant scheme

Warm Front - help with the costs of energy efficiency and heating systems for people on certain benefits

Low Carbon Buildings Programme - grants for small-scale renewable energy technologies

RE4D - advice on renewable energy for householders in West Devon, South Hams, Torridge, North Devon and part of Mid Devon.

Repairing a listed building

If your home is a Grade I or II*listed building and is in urgent need of repair, you may be able to get a grant from English Heritage
